March 14 2022: Celebrating Pi-day
Lloyd N. Trefethen
It is a long standing tradition that the KU Leuven SIAM Student Chapter celebrates Pi-day by organizing a lecture and providing FREE PIE. After a year of absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are happy to announce that this year's speaker is professor Lloyd N. Trefethen, who will give a talk on "Adventures with the BMI".
Lloyd N. Trefethen is Professor of Numerical Analysis at the University of Oxford and a fellow of the Royal Society. Professor Trefethen has written several highly influential books on numerical analysis and he is currently the main leader of the Chebfun project.
During this talk, professor Trefethen will discuss a new formula to compute the Body-Mass Index. More information on this formula can be found here. To try this new formula yourself, head over to here.
We hope to see you all there!
